Case study
Five Dock SIA: the social impact of mixed use development
The challenge
Toga required a Social Impact Assessment to support the Environmental Impact Assessment for its proposed Five Dock development.
Understanding the potential impacts and opportunities of a new development requires more than technical assessment. It requires a clear understanding of the existing community, local context and how change may affect the people who live, work and visit the area.
Our solution
One Engage delivered a comprehensive Social Impact Assessment, combining demographic analysis, community research and stakeholder engagement to understand local needs, values and priorities.
The assessment identified potential social impacts associated with the proposal and developed practical mitigation and enhancement measures to support better outcomes.
The outcome
The Social Impact Assessment provided an evidence base to support project planning and approvals, helping ensure social considerations were embedded into decision making and the future development responded to its local community context.
